Workshops that Work
Silverstripe was thrilled to host ‘Workshops that Work’ in Auckland on the 21st of September. It was a fantastic morning filled with inspiration and knowledge-sharing as our expert Strategy and Design team unveiled the potential of workshops as a powerful tool in digital projects.
This event marked a significant milestone for us—our first-ever Auckland event! It provided an exciting opportunity to connect with our clients and engage with fellow digital professionals in the community. Held at Generator, Britomart Place, the morning came with a characteristic touch of fog, making us feel like we were on cloud nine—literally! Matt Patterson, our Auckland Account Director served as the MC for the morning, keeping the energy high and the discussions engaging.
Our amazing Experience Designer, Cassie Zoest, led a presentation sharing valuable tips and tricks on how to run effective workshops. This included best practice workshop principles such as preparation and purpose and the importance of ensuring that all voices are heard. We put this knowledge into action by going through an example workshop together as a group.
We then had the opportunity to discover our workshop personality by completing a fun quiz designed by Silverstripe, all while enjoying a delicious breakfast.
Our Creative Director, James Ford, revealed the significance of our workshop personality and delved into the unique mindsets and traits that different people bring to the table when participating in a workshop. We left with a better understanding of how different personalities can work together and contribute to collaboration.
The event wrapped up with a lively Q&A session, allowing the audience to ask their burning questions about running effective workshops. Bernie Hamlin joined James and Cassie on the panel, offering a valuable technical perspective. This discussion emphasised the versatility of workshops as a tool for addressing the unique challenges of various project types, aiding in understanding stakeholders and goals in the digital realm.
Silverstripe would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of those who joined us for ‘Workshops that Work’ in Auckland. We’re excited to host more events for our clients and extended community in the near future, so stay tuned for updates!
