New Zealand Green Investment Finance

Project background

When NZGIF approached Silverstripe, they had a templated website that was not meeting their growing communication needs. They had a new brand that was not reflected on their website, and they needed a communication channel to help them share information about low emissions investment and NZGIF’s participation in it. 

They were also looking for a solution that was mobile-optimised and had a good content management experience for their team.  

Project scope

When we began the project, the NZGIF team had an idea of their target audiences and how they wanted to structure their content. Through our discovery process, we created user journeys and tested prototypes to help them refine this approach and highlight key information that would help them meet their goals. 

We worked with the team to establish an information architecture (IA) and create content that allowed investors and investees to quickly find criteria and next steps for collaborating with NZGIF. 

We also identified a strong need to keep the content author experience simple, to support their small team and future-proof the site. We did this by reducing manual processes for uploading publications, and creating reusable templates, like the case study and news templates.

Storytelling

One of the NZGIF website’s main functions is to tell the story about green companies, projects, and technology in Aotearoa to potential investors and influencers. We worked with NZGIF to create a case studies page to share these stories. The case studies page features a visual grid layout, and filters that allow users to see stories on a particular subject or investment type. 

We also designed investment cards, which highlight key information about each investment. These cards appear on the homepage and the investments page, and support engagement with the case studies. 

The Silverstripe team was professional and easy to work with. The glowing user feedback we received after the site went live, and continue to receive, speaks for itself.

Key outcomes

The NZGIF website is a modern website that aligns with their brand, and is easier to use, for both the NZGIF team, and their users. Simplified and well-structured content improves the user experience, and extended functionality, like a mega menu and filters, help to future-proof the site. The project was delivered within the ambitious timeframe, and within the budget.
