At the heart of every Silverstripe project is a goal to help users find exactly what they need. As part of our commitment to providing a reliable managed service, we are pleased to announce that Silverstripe Search 2.0 is officially here as of 1 April 2026.

We're hosting a webinar on 13 May giving a deep dive into the ways Silverstripe Search 2.0 unlocks a better user experience for you and for your users. Find more information about the webinar here. But first, here's a short explainer on what's new, and why it matters.

What is Silverstripe Search?

Silverstripe Search is our fully managed search service tailored for Silverstripe CMS websites. With features like full-text and faceted search, plus real-time indexing, it is designed to deliver quick, secure, and accurate results.

By choosing a managed service, you benefit from:

  • Continuous maintenance: We handle the technical heavy lifting and security updates.

  • Evolutionary improvements: Our roadmap(opens in new tab) ensures your search capabilities grow alongside user expectations.

  • Seamless integration: Built specifically to work with Silverstripe CMS.

Silverstripe Search is available on the New Zealand Government Marketplace and includes support for te reo Māori by default.

Why this update matters

This release represents a significant milestone on our product and services roadmap(opens in new tab). It reinforces our promise to handle the ongoing management and maintenance of your search infrastructure, so your team can focus on creating content and improving the user experience.

In any digital solution, search is a critical tool for information accessibility and service delivery. Silverstripe Search 2.0 has been engineered to help users find information faster and more intuitively.

What is new in version 2.0

As part of this update, we have introduced a brand new self-service dashboard including access to set curations and synonyms for customers on our Analyst and Architect plans.

This infrastructure provides advanced search capability without the need for your team to run servers or manage complex security issues. Instead, you can use advanced search functions, technical support, and 24/7 monitoring to help your users discover content easily.
