Tackling bigger challenges

The difference between the classic agency and a grown-up one is where you place your efforts. Hosting and support aren’t our expertise, building digital experiences that engage, enhance and enable is. That’s why we build our SilverStripe sites on SilverStripe Platform. We can focus on providing value in the areas we’re specialists in.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Why is this more expensive than my current hosting?

SilverStripe Platform is much more than hosting. On top of leading cloud hosting from AWS, you also get 24/7 support to monitor your site, security patches, infrastructure upgrades, tailored deployment tools and our expert SilverStripe team working with you to get the best out of your site. This saves hundreds of hours that would normally take you away from building sites.

Can I run more than one site on my SilverStripe Platform stack?

Yes! Stack Share allows multiple websites to run on one SilverStripe Platform stack. This is a cost effective solution for digital agencies with a number of smaller clients with tight hosting budgets, lower traffic and less frequent updates to their sites

Can I move an existing SilverStripe site to SilverStripe Platform?

Of course! We will work with you on a migration plan and our support team will guide you through the process. We have migration documentation for developers which outline the process.

Why do I need 2 datacentres?

AWS Availability Zones (AZ) are very stable, and designed for resiliency. As a result, outages are very rare. Choosing a stack with multiple Availability Zones (AZ) provides higher availability, protecting your site from worst case scenarios. Natural disasters and other extremely rare events can cause outages. Each AZ is isolated, so it's highly unlikely that a natural disaster could affect more than one AZ, low-latency links between the AZs allow your site to be served from the unaffected area in the unlikely case of an outage. Stacks with multiple AZs include 99.9% uptime SLAs which reflect AWS's own commitments based on the best practice of multiple AZs.
