We're growing and are looking for two fantastic people to join the SilverStripe team, we've got an opening for a legendary web developer and support and communication manager.

SilverStripe is an established web development company based in Wellington with a reputation for developing next-generation web applications. We have an exciting opportunity to work in the heart of our company in a support and communication role.

Support and Communication

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the more than one hundred websites we support are constantly running smoothly, and be the main point of contact for our clients in a support capacity.  You’ll need to be someone who can think on your feet, make decisions, and work out problems.

The second component of this role will be actively working with our open source community, answering their questions via email and our support forum.

We'll expect that you can fulfull most of our client requests, and delegate matters to a team of 14 when appropriate.

Key skills you’ll need to bring to the party are:

  • Solid understanding of web technology in general
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to prioritise, delegate, and manage lots of small tasks each day, ensuring quality and deadlines are met
  • Some knowledge from the following group of: HTML, CSS, Linux administration, PHP, MySQL 

We're hoping to find someone by mid February; the start date is flexible.

Core Development Team Member

We’re looking for an experienced developer who is already pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on the web to join going our growing team.

In terms of your technical skills you’ll have advanced knowledge of most of these things: JavaScript, PHP, mySQL, HTML, and CSS

In a professional capacity, you’ll need to have good communication and time management skills. If you have a demonstrated ability to lead team meetings and put together functional specifications and quotes, that would be great. If you have a strong desire to perform those things, and can explain why, that's cool too. 

Along with the above, you need to have demonstrated where you have gone the extra distance to really understand the client and deliver extraordinary service. We're looking for an eye for detail and passion to deliver the best!

You’ll be a key member of our core development team, and will have the opportunity to work on a large number of innovative projects, including our open source content management system.
