We're currently planning what we're going to put into version 2.1 of SilverStripe, and we'd love to get your feedback.
Of course, we've got some ideas of our own:
But we'd like to hear from you before we get started. Where do you think our development effort should go in the next release?
Post your ideas below!

Silverstripe looks VERY nice because of the simplicity. It would be nice if it had a simple EVENTS CALENDAR too.
I see a calendar listed under 'pre-released' modules, but no info.

1) Re templates, take a look at the tutorials linked to on the community page
2) Workflow is supported, but not well documented yet. This is something you can expect to see more on shortly.

I asked this same question on Ajaxian. Let me ask it here too.
I have been looking for a easy to use CMS for creating simple content based websites myself. 2 things that I couldn’t figure out in SilverStripe:
1. How to create a template and apply it on the site. There is nothing in the demo to do the same.
2. Is there any support for workflow management? i.e. one guy writes content and submits for approval and the second guy approves it and then the content goes live.

Events calendar and ecommerce(this one is bigger step I think )
We'll keep bringing new ideas ;)

Some kind of member directory where members can write a blurb about themselves, perhaps upload a photo or two - that kind of thing.

The password boxes in the installer and administration module are in plain text. Can we please have these changed to password boxes to avoid shoulder surfings. Thanks.

Hey, is there a changelog for 2.0?

Thanks for the feedback, Daniel. Blog and Message Board modules will be incorporated into version 2.1, most likely as easily loadable add-on modules.

For me, the thing that's keeping me from using Silverstripe is that the dynamic modules are not available. If you had an integrated blog, messageboard, ecommerce, and events calendar (with signup!) then you would have something truly kickass. Until then, it's just a static website without the features that websites need at least one of.
