SilverStripe makes Sun news

Posted by Sigurd on 5 May 2008

Sun, who recently purchased MySQL for US $1 billion dollars, were interested to learn more about SilverStripe, and our experience with MySQL and Sun. They were also keen to learn about our involvement with powering the Democratic National Convention website because MySQL powers the database behind it.

A video team covering the MySQL conference interviewed us at the SilverStripe expo hall booth. The footage was completed yesterday and can now be viewed online on the Sun website and youtube:

  • Valery, we've got a bunch of interesting developments on the horizon, although for the past few month's we've been concentrating on the less than sexy but entirely important task of fixing bugs and gradual new features. One item we've been pleased to work on is unit test coverage.

You can witness the fact that each *day* several small bugs and new features are dealt with at:

  • I think that this is great news that SilverStripe is being highlighted in so many places and of course much publicity is needed for a company that has moved it's main product towards the open source market.
But what about some updates and highlights regarding new versions of this not yet perfect CMS.
The more I use SilverStripe the more I realize how brilliant it's framework is but also how much more it needs to be stabilized.
I'm not saying to stop posting news reels and convention videos of the team spreading the word. But I am interested in seeing more update news concerning the work on the framework.

    Cheers
