DESIGN CONTEST FOR THE DEFAULT THEME OF SILVERSTRIPE CMS 3.0
SilverStripe Ltd and US web agency Bluehouse Group have just launched a contest to offer every web designer the unique chance to provide the default theme for the SilverStripe CMS 3.0.
The winner’s name will reach thousands of people downloading the open source Content Management System (CMS) every month and be praised by a high class panel jury.
SilverStripe 3.0 is a milestone in CMS development and winning the default theme contest offers a good career booster for budding designers worldwide.
The community will vote for their favourite designs and the top five entries will then be presented to a jury of well respected designers and web personalities. Among the jury is designer Eduardo Cesario, web guru Tom Coates and CMSWire.com founder Brice Dunwood.
SilverStripe’s Product Marketing Manager Kerstin Schuman said she is proud to offer the community the chance to create the face of the latest CMS version.
“The default theme is the visual that people associate with a CMS. The release of 3.0 is a major milestone in the SilverStripe history, and therefore the decision on the default theme is critical for the success of the latest version”.
The contest takes part in a Facebook application which was built by SilverStripe Ltd in Wellington, New Zealand. Entry and public voting ends 12 February.
The SilverStripe open source CMS and Framework has seen over 430k downloads so far and more than 5, 500 active community members contributing to the growth of the tool every day. Bluehouse Group is a web design and development firm based in Richmon, Vermont, USA. Their developer, Aaron Carlino, alias @_UncleCheese_, is arguably the most well known member of the SilverStripe community.
