New Zealand Open Source Awards

Posted by Sigurd on 12 September 2008

Over twenty finalists have now been announced for this year's New Zealand Open Source awards.

The range of organisations and people recognised and the achievements themselves are an amazing demonstration of New Zealand's adoption of open source.

SilverStripe has been is associated with three categories;

  • Category B : Open Source Software Project
    The SilverStripe software project is a finalist for innovation in open source web content management.
  • Category D: Open Source Use In Business
    The SilverStripe business is a finalist for business success through open source.
  • Category G: Open Source Use in Infrastructure
    The National Broadband Map website run by the State Services Commission is a finalist for providing a unique national view of broadband supply and demand. SilverStripe software and our team were used to build the website. We collectively agreed to freely release the project source code as well as make open and free APIs and widgets available.

Winners are announced on September 24th. In the meantime, congratulations and thanks from SilverStripe go out to all the applicants, finalists, and to the organisations who have sponsored and organised the awards.
