Mark Rickerby hovers on a curious loop between being a creative generalist and a technical specialist. With vast experience in the Wellington design and entertainment industries, he remembers SilverStripe before it was even called SilverStripe, and knows well how far it has advanced in this time. Prior to joining us in 2008, Mark has worked for leading local companies like Shift and Chrometoaster, and more recently has spent time freelancing and writing his first novel.
Mark brings a deep understanding of web programming and computer science, along with a passion for solving tricky design problems. Having created a wide range of bespoke content management tools (including the infamous 'CMS in 24 hours' at FullCodePress), he looks forward to using his experiences designing useful online tools to help create great products for SilverStripe customers, while at the same time, contributing to improving the architecture of the SilverStripe core and the overall usability of the end product.
Mark enjoys living in Wellington because of all the trees and steep hillsides. For fun, he likes to jam music with his friends and torture himself by writing about open source philosophy, design, and various aspects of linguistics, programming, and literature.
