Luke Hudson
Developer
Luke joined SilverStripe in November 2009. People often ask him where he's from and he never knows how to answer; he's lived in several countries, but despite his British accent, he mostly grew up in NZ.
He is proud of his ability to be incomprehensible in several spoken languages, and he can confuse a computer in many more. His programming experience started when he was around 8 years old when had a ZX81 computer without a tape recorder. Turning it off meant losing all the programs, so he learned the value of typing correctly early in life. Since then, he's progressed through many different computer languages (including assembly, Java, C, Perl, and PHP) and operating systems, and discovered the worlds of Unix and open source.
When Luke's not hacking away at code, he can be found photographing detritus, devouring literature, or enjoying Wellington's many bars. On the more energetic front, you may see him speeding around Wellington on his bicycle or swimming in the harbour (while dreaming of the tropics).
