James Kirkus-Lamont

Designer

James is a designer.

Since arming himself with a Design Studies degree and several years of Computer Science at Otago University he has found himself working under a range of creative titles such as interactive designer at Ponoko, art editor at Learning Media, graphic designer at Metservice, and technical editor at Fisher & Paykel.

With a multidisciplinary background he's equally happy talking about grid layouts, font choices and colour palettes as he is compiling nightly builds, test driving AJAX effects libraries and learning CSS hacks. He's also not shy of a little 3D rendering and is keen to learn and play more with coding for creatives and physical computing.

Away from pushing pixels James likes taking photographs and while he's omnivorous in his reading, film and music habits he tends to return to his mainstays of science fiction, documentaries, and electronica.
