Hamish Friedlander
Developer
Hamish joined SilverStripe in March 2009. Programming since childhood, he has dedicated his life to technology. Prior to joining SilverStripe he had a four-year stint running a one-man development shop in Bali, providing HTML enlightenment and a complete range of web-based solutions in that tropical paradise. Now returned to our shores, he brings with him more than a decade of industry experience and a comprehensive knowledge of open source frameworks and languages.
A multi-disciplinarian, Hamish is at home coding backend PHP, designing CSS layouts, optimising SQL statements, or load-hardening Debian. He thinks JavaScript is a near-perfect language, the web is our saviour from the perils of lock-in, and open source will inevitably triumph.
While dedicated to the art of the hack, Hamish also spends time playing guitar, riding motorcycles, and reading hard sci-fi novels in an effort to form a perfect blend of nerd and metal. He longs for the day he can replace his frail form with gears and steel, that he may live forever.
