This is our biggest month of traffic and downloads yet, so I thought it would be kind to make it easy on everyone to see what's around the corner with the SilverStripe project.
This was included in yesterday's monthly newsletter (which you get when you sign up to the forum).
With SilverStripe 2.1 released earlier in the month, we've been working hard on 2.2, which will be released before the year is up. As mentioned on the Google Summer of Code Blog, this release will feature most of the fruits born through our ten Google-funded programmers. This includes;
- Hundreds of usability improvements, by Elijah Lofgren, such as tooltips and drag-n-drop file manipulation.
- Multiple language support, both of the public site, and the back-end administration system, thanks to Bernat Foj Capell. This was previewed in Spanish a few months ago.
You can crop, rotate and resize images, and upload multiple files at once. Thanks Mateusz Ujma! - Will Scott's work on Google Adwords and search ranking
- Quin Hoxie's graphical reporting system that uses canvas
- Innovative OpenID support as added by Markus Lanthaler
- Support for Microsoft and Postgres SQL server is taking shape, thanks to Philipp Krenn. It is a substatantial job so a big thanks to go out to him perservering, now that Google Summer of Code is officially over for the year!
- Ofir has promised to produce an update to his Google Maps module
- Lakshan is going revise his flickr module with three seperate items that allow you to pull technorati content, youtube videos, and flickr photos onto your SilverStripe site.
I'll provide an individual tour of each of these as their release nears.

"Multiple language support, ..."
Which languages and if not my language can I then translate into my own? (I know it's open source - but??)

Nassaja, this is something we'd love to do but is lower down on the priority level (we have lots of nearly-complete features that we want to polish first). You can expect us to either improve it overall, or document how to give better URL heirachies in certain situations (like you could modify the blog system to always be www.site.org/blog/article-name )
