A small but very interested crowd, including our Summer of Code student Will Scott, turned up to our evening OSCON session to learn about New Zealand, SilverStripe and our progress with Google Summer of Code. You can download a PDF of the presentation (2mb). Since Keynote doesn't export the animations from my presentation, refer below:
- Elijah Lofgren has made SilverStripe way easier to use, adding everything from tooltips to drag-n-drop file manipulation.
- Multiple language support, thanks to Bernat Foj Capell, can now be previewed in Spanish.
- Lakshan Perera released a flickr photo gallery module
- You can crop, rotate and more with images. Thanks Mateusz Ujma!
- Will Scott's worked on Google Adwords and search ranking
- Meg Risen has made good progress on Safari browser support
- You can now download Ofir Picazo's (google) maps module
- Quin Hoxie's built a graphical reporting system
- OpenID support has been added by Markus Lanthaler
- Microsoft and Postgres SQL server support is taking shape, thanks to Philipp Krenn.

It'll be interesting to see how the performance differes using the different back ends... Hopefully, you can bench test it and see which works best :-)
