Back from San Francisco

Posted by Sigurd on 28 April 2008

We've just returned from a trip to San Fransisco, where we exhibited and spoke at at the global MySQL Conference held in Santa Clara.

We met with hundreds of people, received very positive feedback about our presentation (slides and resources now online), and secured commercial business.  We're also seeing our developer community grow as a result, as April has already topped our all-time high for our software downloads.

A number of the press interviewed us, with one interview already available for listening online. Sun, who now owns MySQL interviewed us at the conference, producing a two minute video.

You can watch the fourteen day trip abbreviated to eight minutes:

A huge thanks go to Lenz Grimmer from MySQL for inviting us over, and to many others who helped out with the conference and accomodation. In particular, Manisha Nagrani and Matt Parker for volunteering to help out with our stall.

Congratulations to Ligaya Turmelle for winning one the iPod shuffles we gave away at our stall. Ligaya is the founder of PHP Women, a global community aiming support women to become more heavily involved in the PHP community.
