Rainer Spittel
Chief Operating Officer
Rainer leads the development team at SilverStripe. He is an experienced software developer who has an excellent knowledge of web standards such as the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards. He is passionate about open data initiatives and implementing highly available, scalable distributed software solutions.
After research and industry work in Germany and New Zealand, focused primarily on geospatial technologies, Rainer welcomed the opportunity to contribute his knowledge to SilverStripe's projects. Besides being a software developer, he manages and oversees the QA processes at SilverStripe.
Rainer has a Masters degree in Computer Science from Bremen University (Germany) and has worked on international open data projects that enable EU governments to publish and share data across national boundaries.
When Rainer is not at work, you can find him in his workshop building new country-style furniture, capturing nature by tweaking his photography skills, or just talking to his chickens.
